Usami Shinichi never thought it would end like this. He was a master thief, robbing all of Nagoya's most expensive jewelry stores in two weeks time. Then it went on to all of them. Cheap, expensive, it didn't matter. As long as there were jewels to fuel his wife's lust and his greed, he was happy.
But one early morning, Shinichi's wrong-doings had caught up with him.
The clock read 1:22 AM. He was asleep, unknowing to all that went on. His wife Miyuki was at work, tending to the dozens of patients she saw as a third-shift nurse at the local hospital.
A man with a mask over his mouth, a patch over his left eye, and a black suit stealthily entered Shinichi's apartment; Shinichi waking to the sound of a .45 automatic cocking against his head. He looked up at the man and chuckled snidely.
"Scarecrow," he said softly. "If I had known you were coming, I would've made tea."
"Of course you knew I was coming," the man said in response, bending down to look him eye level. "Now then, Usami. Got anything you'd like today before I kill you?"
"Nothing. I have no regrets."
That was all "Scarecrow" needed to hear. Before he or Shinichi would even say anything, he had lodged two bullets into the skull of the man who had terrorized countless shopkeepers around Nagoya.
It was the end of the master thief Usami Shinichi.
